Lees earn England call up

Leeds United defender Tom Lees has been called up to the England Under-21 squad.

Lees has been added to Stuart Pearce's initial party for the forthcoming Euro 2013 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Norway.

The Young Lions are in Baku for their penultimate fixture of the campaign on Thursday before meeting the Scandinavian side at Chesterfield's Proact Stadium on Monday.

And Lees has been rewarded for his impressive performances in the Championship for Leeds by being added to the list of players which were originally selected.

The 21-year-old made the breakthrough into the Whites first-team last year after loan stints with Accrington and Bury and is now a key member of Neil Warnock's side.

  1. As posted earlier, this was a deal that NEVER WAS!!!!!
The whole saga was used to drive season tickets sales, and maybe help to convince new players to join the club. Ken Bates is a business man 1st and foremost, he will only sell the club when we are back in the premier league. He will then walk away with a very tidy profit. If we don't go up this year there is one consolation, we will be playing those players that jumped ship to Norwich.
