Paddy Kenny in clear over QPR "text" row

QPR manager Mark Hughes does not expect the controversy surrounding Paddy Kenny to go any further after confirming that chairman Tony Fernandes and technical director Mike Rigg were sent abuse over the weekend by the club's former goalkeeper.Kenny joined  Leeds United during the summer and was replaced as the west Londoners' number one by Rob Green.The England international endured a nightmare debut following his move from West Ham, with a blunder for the first goal putting Swansea on course to a 5-0 victory in the season's opener.Press reports suggest that Kenny sent abusive text messages to Rigg and Fernandes late on Saturday night and in the early hours of Sunday morning, mocking the result and Green's performance.Rigg is also understood to have received calls up until 3am on Sunday, leading him to make a complaint to Leeds.Asked about the issue today, QPR boss Hughes said: "It doesn't go anywhere from here.
"There was some text messages and telephone messages, which were to Tony Fernandes and our technical director, Mike Rigg."We felt they were inappropriate. We didn't make a formal complaint, I think Mike just got in touch with Leeds just to make them aware of the situation and just to acknowledge that actually it did occur.

"But we didn't make a formal complaint, it was just two individuals."

Paddy Kenny deal agreed

According to reports in the London  press QPR and Leeds United appear to have agreed a deal for goalkeeper Paddy Kenny to move to Elland Road.He looks set to be reunited with former Rangers boss Neil Warnock, whom he also played under at Sheffield United and Bury.Warnock has been hampered by financial restrictions and at one stage looked like missing out on the 34-year-old as a number of Championship clubs made their interest clear.But Kenny has always favoured a return to Yorkshire and stalled over possible moves elsewhere in the hope that Warnock would get the green light to sign him.Warnock’s cause was helped by an offer from Bolton for keeper Andy Lonergan, which seems to have paved the way for Kenny to move.Kenny’s future at Loftus Road has been in doubt since Warnock was sacked by Rangers in January.
Prior to that, the club discussed a new contract for the Republic of Ireland international, whose current deal is due to expire next year.It later became obvious that he was not in Warnock’s successor Mark Hughes’ plans – especially when contract talks pencilled in for the first week of February did not take place.Hughes  made enquiries about several high-profile keepers before Robert Green’s arrival resulted in Kenny being made available.

During his two seasons in west London, Kenny has made 77 league appearances for Rangers and was a key player in their promotion to the Premier League.

Clint Hill set for Leeds?

Neil Warnock looks set to renew his interest in left-back Clint Hill following Queens Park Rangers’ successful fight against relegation. The Leeds United manager could move in for Hill after QPR secured a second year in the Premier League on the final weekend of the season. Hill has been a fixture in Rangers’ line-up during the past nine months and started their last league game away to Manchester City on Sunday but the London club are likely to listen to offers for him as they set about rebuilding their own squad. Warnock took Hill to Loftus Road in the summer of 2010 and used him throughout QPR’s Championship title-winning campaign. The pair also worked together at Crystal Palace, where Warnock signed Hill from Stoke City, and the versatile defender appears to be on Warnock’s radar again.Hill, 33, was yesterday named the players’ player and fans’ player of the year at Rangers.
