Snodgrass in Norwich City Talks

Sky Sports News are reporting that Leeds United winger Robert Snodgrass is on his way to Carrow Road to hold talks regarding a move to Norwich City.Snodgrass has been a long-term target for the Canaries and he has already been the subject of two failed bids from the Premier League club this summer. The second of those was rejected by Leeds last week, but it is understood that the two clubs have now agreed a fee for the Scotland international. The 24-year-old only has 12 months remaining on his present deal at Elland Road and has been offered a new contract which would make him Leeds' highest-paid player.Neil Warnock outlined his determination to keep Snodgrass last week, but the player is now closing in on a move to the Premier League.
Snodgrass joined Leeds from Livingston in 2008 and he has made over 190 appearances during his time with the Championship club.

Norwich in New bid for Snodgrass

Reports are emerging that Norwich City have submitted a new bid for Leeds United Captain Robert Snodgrass.Leeds United revealed earlier this week that they had rejected a bid from Norwich for the player with Leeds manager Neil Warnock stating "It's been made public that they (Norwich) have bid, but from our own point of view it's not what we're looking for."We'd like to keep Rob, and Rob knows that. Whether that will be possible we'll have to wait and see. "It's difficult when players get their heads turned, but I'd like to keep Rob at the club and that's what I'm trying to do at the moment.Unless they come up with a valuation that the club thinks is satisfactory then that's what we want to do."The Scottish forward has been offered a new deal at Elland Road which would reportedly make him the highest-paid player at the club. The new offer is believed to be closer to Leeds United's valuation of the player and is believed to be under consideration by the club, however  rumours in the Midlands are that former Norwich manager Paul Lambert who is now at Aston Villa,is also set to launch a bid for the 24-year-old.

Warnock assured he will remain Leeds boss by new owners

{EAV:c1bd42a8c22c5c17}    Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has been assured his job as is safe by the club’s prospective new owners.A Middle East-based consortium is conducting due diligence as they close in on a deal to buy the Championship club from Ken Bates - and Warnock has been informed they have no plans to bring in their own man.Speaking on Talksport Radio told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show: “To be honest, I wouldn’t be there now if I didn’t think they were totally behind me.
“I have had opportunities this summer to move on and the fans at Leeds have been superb with me right from day one so I felt that the best interests of the fans and the club is me staying put. That sounds big-headed but I don't mean it like that."Knowing what is going off, knowing the people that I'm dealing with, I just felt it was the best opportunity to get it sorted. The new people think along those lines as well. I have been given that type of assurance that they are really keen for me to stay."Warnock is less sure about the Elland Road future of captain Robert Snodgrass after Norwich tabled an offer for the talented midfielder.I have been given that type of assurance that they are really keen for me to stay“I was hoping when I came to build a team around Rob but they get their head turned and it’s difficult," he said. "You understand the player’s point of view when he sees Howson and Bradley Johnson go down to Norwich. It is disappointing.
“There are a few clubs that like Rob. Norwich have made an offer for him that’s not what we consider acceptable. You can understand why [clubs are interested in him]. He is a top player and he has been for the last few years.”
Ross McCormack could also be on his way out of Leeds, with Warnock willing to let the Scotland striker go if he can find a suitable replacement.
He added: “We have had two or three decent offers for Ross and from what I can gather I don’t think the terms will be a problem with all these clubs that are chasing him. But I don’t want to let anyone go, if I’m honest, unless I’ve got replacements or good players coming in.”

Norwich and Villa chasing Snodgrass

{EAV:c1bd42a8c22c5c17}  Sky Sports are reporting that Norwich City have made a fresh bid for Leeds winger Robert Snodgrass. The Canaries first tried to sign the Scotland international last summer, but their approaches were turned down by Leeds. And despite a change of manager, with Chris Hughton now in charge at Carrow Road, their interest in Snodgrass has remained.Norwich have tabled two offers in the last week for the Scot. However Glory Glory Leeds United have learned that former Norwich boss Paul Lambert, who is now at Aston Villa,is set to launch a bid for the 24-year-old.Lambert has been a long time admirer of Snodgrass as is ready to bid up to £5m for the player.Leeds manager Neil Warnock may be prepared to listen to offers for the player if the much vaunted takeover and cash injection fails to materialise , seeing the players sale as a way of raising funds to continue his re building of the squad.Snodgrass has just one year left on his current deal at Elland Road, having failed to agree a new contract with the West Yorkshire outfit.

Warnock Defends Snodgrass

Leeds United manager Neil Warnock has defended his captain Robert Snodgrass,as he ponders his future at Elland Road.Warnock said Snodgrass was “justified” in delaying his decision about whether to stay with Leeds.Snodgrass has been offered a deal which would make him United’s highest earner. But he left question marks hanging over him this week by expressing concern about the club’s ambition. His existing contract is entering its final year and a rejection of United’s offer would be likely to spark a race to sign him, despite Warnock’s plan to keep him until at least Christmas.Warnock said: “He knows what I think about him and I don’t blame him. I know he’s saying ‘let’s see how ambitious the club are.’ “When I spoke to him he said to me ‘12 months ago it was Max Gradel, Bradley Johnson, Howson and me’ and now he’s the only one left. I understand where he’s coming from. “I see both sides and I also understand the club having to get the money they could for Howson because his contract was up six months later but it doesn’t help the fans. They want to see a top team and, quite honestly, you’ve seen with my retained list that I don’t think we’re anywhere near as good as we should be with the size of this club. “He is going to wait and see who we sign and how the situation develops. I’ve seen some of his comments and he’s come out and said he’s heard it all before at the club. Snods has been here longer than me so he probably knows more about the politics than I do.”

Snodgrass Unhappy with Bates

Leeds United captain Robert Snodgrass has had a dig at Chairman Ken Bates over his ongoing contract negotiations. The Elland Road club face another season in the Championship after finishing well off the pace in 14th position, and Snodgrass makes no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League. Snodgrass has been offered improved terms to remain at the club, but is not willing to sign if the club are unable to match his ambition. He said: 'I'd love to get into the Premier League with Leeds. I'm captain now which is a different challenge.'The chairman is trying to put a bit of pressure on me and he's telling me what plans he has for the club.'But they told me the same type of plans the season before and it didn’t work out so it's hard to buy into these things again.'Leeds boss Neil Warnock has promised the Scot can leave Elland Road next summer if they fail to seal a return to the Premier League. But Snodgrass will not allow his boss's comments to affect his decision as the 63-year-old is only contracted until the end of next season.'He has already said he won’t be sticking around much longer. Who knows whether he has one or two more years left at Leeds?'It's all right for him to say he could get me a move but if he leaves the people above him in the football club are not going to worry about what he said.
'My future doesn’t lie in the hands of Neil Warnock, it's in the hands of Robert Snodgrass.'
