Neil Kilkenny made his first international appearance for two-and-a-half years when he stepped off the bench during Australia's 1-0 win against Bahrain on Thursday.
Killa has been an unused substitute in the Socceroos first two Asian Cup games, but he joined the action for the final 11 minutes of Australia's final Group C game.
The victory was enough to send Australia through to the knockout stages of the competition.
The Socceroos won their group and are now likely to play either Iraq or North Korea on Saturday in the last-eight.
