Connolly close to suspension

Leeds United right back Paul Connolly is just one booking away from his second suspension of the season.

The former Derby defender, who joined the club in the summer, collected his ninth caution of the campaign in United's 2-2 draw at Portsmouth on Saturday and will receive a two-match ban if he is booked again before the second Sunday in April.

With Andrew Hughes having left to join Scunthorpe, manager Simon Grayson is short of specialist right backs and could move to reinforce the position before the transfer window closes.

Meanwhile, central defender and club captain Richard Naylor is set to continue his return to full match fitness tomorrow by turning out in a friendly behind closed doors. Naylor hasn't played for the first team since injuring a knee in October.

Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has been named E.on Player of the FA Cup Third Round for his performances against Arsenal in the initial game at the Emirates Stadium and the Elland Road replay. The award was voted for by supporters.
