Michalik leaves Leeds

Carlisle United have signed Lubomir Michalik on an 18-month contract after leaving Leeds United.

The Slovakia international defender has been on loan with the Cumbrians this season, making 13 League One starts for the Brunton Park outfit.

Michalik returned to Elland Road this month, but has now joined Carlisle permanently after having the remainder of his Leeds contract terminated by mutual consent.

He originally joined Leeds on loan from Bolton before sealing a permanent £500,000 switch in January 2008, however, he failed to hold down regular football under manager Simon Grayson.
Michalik is now in line to make his second debut for the club this weekend in their League One home clash with Bristol Rovers.
