Snodgrass beats off his rivals for second month running

Congratulations to Robert Snodgrass after the Leeds winger was named the ESPN PFA Fans' Championship Player of the Month for the second month running.

The 23-year-old produced a string of man-of-the-match displays throughout February in a month that also saw him make his senior Scotland debut against Northern Ireland.

On Snodgrass’ first appearance at international level, United boss Simon Grayson said: “Getting the call-up was a long time coming.

“I was really pleased for him because he has shown consistency and quality. He also works hard for the team.

“I would never question an international manager’s selection but I was delighted for Robert that he has got the recognition. I hope he goes on to win many, many caps.

“I would say Snod is playing as well now as he did last season. He has shown an ability to destroy very good individuals.”

Scotland coach Eric Black added: “He has matured on the pitch. He is playing with a prominent side in Leeds who have been promoted from League One and have stepped up a level.

“They are challenging for a place in the Championship play-offs. I have seen him play two or three times this season and he has really caught the eye.”
