Leeds Chasing Rover's Defender

Leeds United are rumoured to be leading the chase for Doncaster Rovers defender George Friend according to reports on TalkSport.

Fellow championship sides Burnley and Crystal Palace are also tracking the 23-year-old.

The defender signed for Rovers last summer on a two-year deal after being released by Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers with whom he played in the Premier League during the 2009/10 season.

Friend is comfortable playing on the left hand side of both defence and midfield, whilst he is also comfortable as a central defender or midfielder if called upon. The young defender also possesses great vision and passing ability.

He went on to make 35 appearances in his first season at the Keepmoat, helping the side retain their championship place.
