Leeds Close in on Blackburn International

Leeds United are in negotiations with Blackburn Rovers over a season long loan deal for Republic of Ireland international midfielder Keith Andrews.Andrew was been unable to play his part in Blackburn Rovers' struggles last season due to a freak injury he only made 6 appearances in all competitions for Rovers.A former trainee with Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Dublin-born midfielder had spells with Oxford, Stoke, Walsall and Hull City before establishing himself as captain in the MK Dons side that gained promotion to League One and won the Football League Trophy in 2008.

Signed for an undisclosed fee by Blackburn Rovers his displays for Rovers in the early part of the 2008/09 season saw Andrews called up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad for the first time. Making a goalscoring debut as a substitute in November in a friendly match against Poland. The midfielder now has over 20 caps to his name.
