O'Dea finished at Leeds United

Darren O’Dea has played his last game for Leeds United with manager Neil Warnock announcing that the on-loan defender will not be offered a permanent deal at Elland Road.O’Dea is to leave Leeds at the end of his season-long loan from Celtic after failing to convince Warnock to sign him when his contract at Parkhead expires in two months’ time.Warnock considered the option closely and met with O’Dea’s agent for preliminary talks last month, suggesting that he would recruit the 25-year-old on a free transfer ahead of the 2012-13 Championship season. But O’Dea’s time at Elland Road has ended with the red card and suspension he incurred at Blackpool on Tuesday night and Warnock is pursuing other options to play in the centre of Leeds’ defence next term.

Warnock said: “Whilst he’s done well, I’ve spoken to him and told him I’ll be going in a different direction next season.

“I’ve got people in mind who I want to bring in during the summer and I’m working towards making that happen.”
