"Barndoor" Billy set for Leeds Exit

Doncaster Rovers are expected to complete the signing of Billy Paynter on today according to Leeds United boss Neil Warnock.Paynter joined Doncaster on trial on Thursday after an unsuccessful trial with championship side Blackpool earlier in the week. Warnock was asked about the striker`s trial with Rovers in his post-match interview following Leeds pre-season game at the weekend. Warnock was speaking on Yorkshire Radio and was asked about the possibility of Paynter signing for Doncaster, he said, 'Billy is going Monday and we have had a few enquiries about other players." Paynter moved to Leeds in the summer of 2010 after scoring 29 goals for Swindon Town in League One. Things have not worked out for the 28 year old during his time with Leeds and he has netted just three times in twenty-eight appearances and he quickly became a target for ridicule amongst the Elland Road faithful who dubbed him “Barndoor” Billy due to his wayward shooting and subsequently poor goal return. Last season he managed just three appearances, scoring twice against Peterborough United in April. Paynter played no part in Rovers pre-season 2-2 draw with Barnsley on Saturday
