Green injury Update

Paul Green-Leeds United
Leeds United midfielder Paul Green could be out of action for two months following a knee injury picked up playing against Wolves last Saturday.

Manager Neil Warnock revealed that scans showed the injury may not be as bad as feared, but Green faces a spell on the sidelines.

He said: “It’s looking like a grade two strain or a tear. We’re hoping four or six weeks, but it could be eight weeks. I had the dreaded feeling with it being his knee.

“He had a good pre-season and it’s a blow to us, but he’s a good healer so with a bit of luck it might not be as bad.

“It’s very difficult to replace him with the way he was playing, but we know what we’ve got and we’ll get on. It gives the opportunity for someone else.”

Warnock is hopeful his captain Lee Peltier will be fit to continue in the side at Peterborough on Saturday after dislocating a shoulder in Tuesday night’s game at Blackpool.

He added: “Lee popped his shoulder on Tuesday, but he wants to play so I think he’ll probably be okay.”
