Becchio set for Norwich City

Leeds United striker Luciano Becchio is reported to be in talks with Norwich City over a proposed transfer to the Premiership club. Becchio handed in a transfer request earlier this month, and he has attracted attention from a number of clubs.Leeds have rejected bids from the continent, but now a deal with Norwich looks to be close, with Norwich striker Steve Morison included as part of the package. Morison is reported to be in Leeds for a medical.Morison joined Norwich from Millwall in 2011 having scored 35 goals in 83 appearances.

Snodgrass in Norwich City Talks

Sky Sports News are reporting that Leeds United winger Robert Snodgrass is on his way to Carrow Road to hold talks regarding a move to Norwich City.Snodgrass has been a long-term target for the Canaries and he has already been the subject of two failed bids from the Premier League club this summer.The second of those was rejected by Leeds last week, but it is understood that the two clubs have now agreed a fee for the Scotland international.The 24-year-old only has 12 months remaining on his present deal at Elland Road and has been offered a new contract which would make him Leeds' highest-paid player.Neil Warnock outlined his determination to keep Snodgrass last week, but the player is now closing in on a move to the Premier League.
Snodgrass joined Leeds from Livingston in 2008 and he has made over 190 appearances during his time with the Championship club.

Norwich in New bid for Snodgrass

Reports are emerging that Norwich City have submitted a new bid for Leeds United Captain Robert Snodgrass.Leeds United revealed earlier this week that they had rejected a bid from Norwich for the player with Leeds manager Neil Warnock stating "It's been made public that they (Norwich) have bid, but from our own point of view it's not what we're looking for."We'd like to keep Rob, and Rob knows that. Whether that will be possible we'll have to wait and see. "It's difficult when players get their heads turned, but I'd like to keep Rob at the club and that's what I'm trying to do at the moment.Unless they come up with a valuation that the club thinks is satisfactory then that's what we want to do."The Scottish forward has been offered a new deal at Elland Road which would reportedly make him the highest-paid player at the club.The new offer is believed to be closer to Leeds United's valuation of the player and is believed to be under consideration by the club,however  rumours in the Midlands are that former Norwich manager Paul Lambert who is now at Aston Villa,is also set to launch a bid for the 24-year-old.

Norwich and Villa chasing Snodgrass

£8m Snodgrass Price Tag scares of Norwich

Premier League new boys Norwich City have been priced out of a move for Robert Snodgrass after Leeds reportedly put an £8million fee on him.
Earlier this month City had a £3.5million offer for the Scotland star rejected by the Whites. Leeds chairman Ken Bates has insisted he is in no hurry to sell Snodgrass and hopes the asking price will be enough to scare off would-be bidders. Snodgrass, 23, is one of the Championship's most highly-rated performers but Canaries boss Paul Lambert is unwilling to pay such a high fee as he looks to build a squad capable of staying in the top flight.

Norwich Now Want Johnson

Norwich City are on the brink of signing released Leeds United midfielder Bradley Johnson.The former Northampton midfielder failed to negotiate a new deal at Elland Road despite several offers being made to him.
The Sun says Norwich are set to sign Johnson on a three-year deal.

The Premier League new-boys, Sunderland and West Brom were chasing the out-of-contract 24-year-old.

Johnson snubbed an offer at Elland Road for the chance to play top-flight football.

Norwich fail in Snodgrass bid

Norwich City have had a £3.5million offer for winger Robert Snodgrass rejected by Leeds United.

Norwich boss Paul Lambert is busy assembling a squad for the Premier League and has already brought in striker James Vaughan from Everton.
A deal in excess of £2million has also been agreed with Millwall for Steve Morison and now a move has been made to bring Snodgrass to Carrow Road.

Snodgrass has been an influential performer for Leeds since joining the club from Livingston in 2008 and he has made over 140 appearances.

He is also now a Scotland international and has regularly been linked with a switch to the top flight, with the likes of Stoke City and Newcastle United previously mooted as admirers.

However, it appears Norwich will have to up the ante in their efforts to capture Snodgrass after the club's initial bid for the 23-year-old was turned down.

Simon Grayson named an unchanged side for the visit of promotion rivals Norwich City on a wintry day at Elland Road.Morning snow had threatened the game, but another determined effort ensured the Elland Road pitch was playable for the clash.Referee Neil Swarbrick had arrived early to see the operation and keep his eye on the surface, and Grayson's team were equally quick out of the blocks when the game got underway.
Jonny Howson fired wide inside the opening five minutes and Luciano Becchio came within a whisker of heading home an opener after some more good build-up play.But Becchio did put Leeds ahead inside 18 minutes. Robert Snodgrass headed a free-kick on to the far post and Becchio rose above Adam Drury to nod the ball home.
It was the perfect start for Leeds against a side who responded almost immediately by hitting the post.
United started well, though, and Snodgrass was appealing for a penalty on 22 minutes when he felt he was brought down by Drury as he looked to get in a cross just inside the box.Snodgrass had to receive treatment on the half-hour after receiving a whack, but he was soon back in action.
On 35 minutes, Kasper Schmeichel pulled off his first save of the afternoon when he pushed a shot from distance around the post.

But it was almost 2-0 moments later. Eric Lichaj got in a cross from the byline and after Howson's first shot was blocked his second effort came back off the underside of the bar.
Norwich responded immediately, though, and David Fox sent a shot wide from distance.
But Howson threatened again when he almost got on the end of a delightful give-and-go that would have released him on goal.
And it was Norwich who got back on terms in the finest minute of stoppage time. Grant Holt nodded a ball down to Henri Lansbury inside the box and the on-loan Arsenal youngster smashed home a first time strike to make it 1-1.
It was a blow for Leeds and gave Norwich a huge lift in stoppage time.
The second half started a quick pace, though, and the visitors had a couple of half-chances. United also had a couple, Neil Kilkenny firing wide and both Jonny Howson and Max Gradel seeing efforts deflected wide.
Both sides were on the front foot looking to win the game, Gradel tried his luck again when he had another shot deflected to the arms of goalkeeper John Ruddy.
The post came to United's rescue on 65 minutes, but it was 2-1 to Norwich moments later. Andrew Crofts laid it wide to Wes Hoolahan who, cutting inside, tucked the ball home.
United looked to respond quickly and after Gradel was crowded out, Becchio was denied by some good defending, and Snodgrass had a shot saved.
Grayson brought on Davide Somma on 74 minutes and, just as at Portsmouth four weeks ago, his first touch was to make it 2-2. He latched on to a ball over the top and delivered a great finish to level the scores.
Somma was also denied by some great defending when Bradley Johnson whipped in a cross from the left.
As the game headed towards the 90-minute mark, it was Leeds who were looking to push, and three minutes of added time gave increased hope.

Billy Paynter was a 90th minute sub and he was agonisingly denied a winner by the hands of Ruddy after a neat one-two with Somma.But there was to be no winner as the stalemates between Norwich and Leeds continued.
