Michael Tonge has joined Leeds United on loan until the end of the year. The 29-year-old midfielder links back up with Neil Warnock at Elland Road following a fruitful relationship between the pair at Sheffield United earlier in his career.Tonge, who hasn’t featured for the Potters in over twelve months, made his name under Warnock at Bramall Lane, where he featured in over 300 games during a successful nine-year spell there.Tony Pulis confirmed the news on Thursday morning to stokecityfc.com, saying: “This is a great move for Michael, and I am sure he will go there and do extremely well for them.“He is a great lad, but as with the others who haven’t been named in the 25-man squad here, it is vitally important for them to get out there and play regularly.”This will be the midfielder’s fifth loan move away from the Britannia Stadium, having already spent time with Preston and North End, on two occasions, Derby County and more recently Barnsley.
His last involvement in a Stoke City shirt came during the Club’s 1-0 Europa League Qualifying victory against Swiss side FC Thun in August last year.
