Kilkenny next target for Leeds United deal

Leeds are hoping Neil Kilkenny will follow Luciano Becchio’s example by signing a new contract.
Top scorer Becchio agreed a new three-and-a-half-year deal at the weekend but talks with Australian midfield international Kilkenny, 25, have so far stalled.
Kilkenny has figured in all but two of United’s 24 matches in all competitions this season but he could be missing for much of January.
He has been named in Australia’s provisional squad for the Asian Cup, which starts on January 7 in Qatar and is due to finish at the end of the month.
Meanwhile, Leeds are still prepared to listen to offers for midfielder Bradley Johnson, who looks set to be sold during the transfer window after rejecting the club’s final offer of a new contract.
