Sunderland left-back George McCartney is to stay on loan at Leeds United for a third month, the Elland Road club have revealed.
McCartney's deal with Leeds will run until after their Championship game against Portsmouth on December 28, making him available to manager Simon Grayson until the start of the January transfer window.
The Northern Ireland international made his 12th consecutive appearance for Leeds in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Reading – United's first clean sheet for 11 games – and he is free to play in this weekend's meeting with Crystal Palace at Elland Road.
Leeds signed McCartney from Sunderland on a temporary basis in September, ahead of their Yorkshire derby with Sheffield United.
