Collins set for Blades switch

Leeds defender Neill Collins is poised for a permanent switch to Sheffield United.

The 27-year-old centre-half joined the Whites on loan from Preston last March and played the final stretch of the club's successful promotion campaign, before signing permanently in the summer.

Collins has started 20 Championship games for Simon Grayson's side this term but has now been deemed surplus to requirements at Elland Road.

He has fallen out of the first team in January and is set for a move to South Yorkshire subject to a medical.

Collins has a wealth of experience and has previously enjoyed spells with Queen's Park, Dumbarton, Sunderland and Wolves.

Sheffield United are looking to rebuild under Micky Adams and have conceded 43 goals in 27 league games this season
