Leeds No Contact From Villa

Leeds United are thought to have received no contact from Aston Villa despite a flurry of money for manager Simon Grayson to succeed Gerard Houllier in the Villa Park hotseat this weekend.Leeds boss Grayson had been as big as 50-1 with William Hill to become the next Villa boss but a series of wagers with the betting firm slashed the 41-year-old into 5-2 favourite on Saturday. However, Grayson was back out to a 20-1 chance yesterday afternoon and Leeds are understood to have received no formal approach for their manager who made 49 appearances for Villa as a player.
Instead, Alex McLeish is now the red-hot favourite to land the position after resigning as Birmingham City boss yesterday – the Scot as short as 1-5 to be next Villa manager yesterday – ahead of former Fulham boss Mark Hughes at 6-1 and current Everton gaffer David Moyes at 7s.

United are understood to be baffled by the market move for Grayson who still has two years of his current contract to run.
